SAFEGUARDING POLICY
Children, young persons, and vulnerable adults’ policy.

We acknowledge that some children, including disabled children, those from ethnic minority communities, and vulnerable adults, can be particularly at risk of abuse or harm.

Therefore, UK VELO requires that all children, young people, and vulnerable adults attending our events are accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent, carer, or responsible adult.

At no time does UK VELO or any of its representatives assume responsibility for the care or supervision of children, young people, or vulnerable adults during events.

Commitment to Safeguarding

UK VELO recognises that the welfare and interests of children, young people, and vulnerable adults are paramount.

While their safety and supervision remain the sole responsibility of their accompanying parent, carer, or responsible adult, UK VELO is committed to promoting a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.

What we’ll do

As part of our safeguarding commitment, UK VELO will:

Require that all children, young people, and vulnerable adults are accompanied and supervised by a parent, carer, or responsible adult at all times.

Ensure that all parents, carers, and responsible adults are made aware of this policy prior to and during events.

Provide clear points of contact for emergencies — parents or carers should speak to a member of the UK VELO team immediately if assistance is required.

Include this policy within our Terms and Conditions of Entry to ensure full awareness and acceptance by all attendees.

Address any failure to comply with this policy promptly, which may result in exclusion from the current or future events.
