This fun sportive ride is about taking your time, enjoying the views and just getting in some early season cycling miles.

With 3 route options available, ensuring the cycling routes have limited climbing where possible which makes the routes an interesting mix of flat sections and stunning sportive beauty suitable for all.

We have included the CHEDDAR GORGE, climb as its near the end of all routes and is a good tick for your cycling palmarès.

No matter your ability, this is a friendly and welcoming sportive.

    Parking will open at 0700                              

    Registration will be from 0730 – 0845

    You can start from 0730 - 0900

    The START will close at 0900 you will not be able to start after this time.

    If you require a printed map, you need to download and print your own, there are no printed maps available at the event.

    Although the routes are comprehensively marked with route arrows on occasion people move these signs, we suggest downloading the route to a phone or navigation device just in case you need route assistance on the day.

    For the safety of riders and the sanity of event staff we must use cut offs, if you start your ride at the appropriate time and can ride at approx. 12 mph you will make the course split point.

    On this event the cut off is at 1230, you must be at the 92 km point by then to continue the Long route, If not, you will be directed to the medium course, this affects the Long route only.

    RIDERS ON ALL ROUTES MUST RETURN TO THE EVENT VENUE BY 1630

    We try to have a varied mixed at the feed stations, these will include: -

    • Energy drink (vg)
    • Water (vg)
    • Flap jack
    • Cake
    • Bananas
    • Crisps (v)
    • Jellybeans or Jelly babies
    • Tea and Coffee

    Plus a few other things that we source as they become available, not everything on the above list will be available at every feed.

    Please note we do not supply gels and we cannot guarantee the products do not contain nuts, gluten, or wheat, if you have specific food tolerances you will need to carry your own supplies.

      47 km Long route only.

    • FEED 2,

      Charltons Community Centre,

      74 km Long route, 33 km Medium route.

    • FEED 3,

      Wedmore village hall,

      124 km Long route, 73 km Medium route, 35 km Short route.

TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATION

There are NO Train stations close to the start however Castle Cary station is 4 Miles.

There is plenty of accomodation locally, including premier inn at Glastonbury (12 Miles) and Wells (5 miles)
