DEVICES

Most GPS devices designed for outdoor sports and navigation can both create and use GPX files.

The great thing about the universal nature of a GPX file is that different brands of device, with different maps loaded can all use the same GPX file.

However, there are many devices and lots of ways to get the routes onto your device, if that be download to computer, USB sticks or on your mobile, we have created these links to help you.

If you dont see your device listed, you will need to do a google search, there are so many devices its hard to keep up.

In the following article the following abbreviations are used Global Positioning System (GPS) , GPS Exchange Format (GPX) , Ride with GPS (RWGPS).

In short, GPS is the technology for location tracking, while GPX is a format used to store that data, and RWGPS is the site we use so you can download most formats for your devices.

STRAVA
Syncing Strava routes to your Garmin device or phone can be complicated, it will just save a lot of time if you read and follow the articles on the links below.

RWGPS
RWGPS stands for Ride with GPS, a popular platform designed for cyclists, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts to plan, navigate, and analyze their routes.

FOLLOW ROUTES or IF YOU GO WRONG

You do not need a navigation device, you can follow the routes directly from your phone.

During your event at anytime you can go to your event webpage at ukvelo.co.uk; and click the RWGPS (ride with gps) button and you can find your location and follow the route. The button on the webpage looks like this (this is a dummy button it won't take you anywhere).

RWGPS

This is helpful if you get lost or you dont have a navigation device, our suggestion is always to download the RWGPS APP so you can follow the route on your phone if needed.
